Massoud Foundation's Diversity & Inclusion Iftar Dinner

On Friday 14 April, the Massoud Foundation Australia hosted its first Diversity & Inclusion Iftar Dinner. The Iftar Dinner marked the 23rd night of Ramadan and was an occasion to celebrate our diverse backgrounds and multiculturalism within the Sydney community.

We had both our Muslim and non-Muslim stakeholders at the event, as well as newly arrived families from Afghanistan, to break our fast together and increase awareness about Islam and its fundamental teachings of coexistence.

Our Iftar was followed by traditional food, dessert, and a spiritual music performance by the Hira Music School.

We thank everyone who attended last night and a special thanks to our sponsors, the Social Policy Group and Multicultural NSW, our speakers, Prof. Mehmet Ozalp from ISRA, Yamamah Agha from SSI, and the Hon. Mark Coure, Hon. Stephen Bali.

We hope that our Diversity & Inclusion Iftar Dinner will become an annual event during Ramadan to share our similarities and celebrate our differences.
